NBC Signs NBA Hall-of-Famer Reggie Miller as Lead Color Commentator

NBC has reportedly made its latest hire for its NBA coverage starting next season, with Hall-of-Famer Reggie Miller joining to be their lead game analyst.

With TNT’s media rights deal with the NBA expiring after this season, there has been much uncertainty regarding the future of the talent involved in their game broadcasts.

With the NBA’s broadcast partners gearing up for next year and their long-term futures carrying their games, the networks have started to fill out their teams for the 2025-26 season.

After months of speculation, TNT will be licensing their hit studio show ‘Inside the NBA’ to ESPN, and play-by-play announcers Kevin Harlan and Ian Eagle will be joining Amazon Prime. The most recent report, however, is that Reggie Miller is signing with NBC to be their lead color commentator.

Reggie Miller Joining NBC as Lead NBA Color Commentator

NBA Hall-of-Famer is the latest new hire for the NBA’s two new broadcasting partners, NBC and Amazon, starting next season.

According to Front Office Sports, Miller will be calling games alongside Mike Tirico and Noah Eagle starting next season.

The NBA is returning to NBC next season after a 23-year absence on the network. NBC carried NBA games during the peak of Michael Jordan’s career and during the Chicago Bulls’ dynasty run. With the NBA’s upcoming return to NBC, this partnership will be nostalgic for NBA fans from the 1990s.

Since retiring from the NBA, Miller was a game analyst at TNT for nearly 20 years. Like Jordan, Miller’s prime was also prominently featured on NBC, most notably his rivalry with the New York Knicks and their playoff battles over the years. Given Miller’s stardom during the peak of NBA on NBC, this signing seems like a natural fit.

In addition to Miller, former NBA veteran Jamal Crawford has also been announced as a game analyst starting next season. The former three-time Sixth Man of the Year award winner has experience calling national games for TNT and Knicks broadcasts for MSG Network.

With NBC’s two NBA broadcast teams set, their next hires will involve filling out their studio show.
