The 28-year-old, son of legendary broadcaster Ian Eagle, has built an impressive resume across multiple sports and platforms.
Eagle has called NFL, college football, and NCAA basketball games, but his most notable work in basketball came last summer during the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he provided play-by-play for Team USA’s men’s and women’s basketball teams alongside Dwyane Wade. His coverage drew widespread acclaim, particularly for his memorable call of Stephen Curry’s game-sealing shot in the gold medal game against France, which he dubbed “the golden dagger.”

With Tirico and Miller forming NBC’s lead broadcast duo, it remains to be seen how the rest of the network’s game coverage will take shape. Crawford could potentially partner with Eagle or be part of a three-person booth alongside Tirico and Miller. Regardless of the final lineup, NBC’s latest moves signal a commitment to delivering high-quality NBA coverage, further building anticipation for the league’s return to the network after a decades-long hiatus.
The excitement surrounding the return of the NBA to NBC is palpable, and with top-tier talent in place, fans can expect a broadcast experience reminiscent of the network’s iconic coverage from the past.
